
In a remarkable initiative to prevent Thalassemia, 6,500 students from Malwanchal University, Indore, and Amaltas University, Dewas, took an oath to undergo a blood test before marriage along with horoscope matching.The event, organized jointly by Malwanchal University, Amaltas University, and Thalassemia & Child Welfare Group, set a World Record recognized by the World Book of Records, London.Chief Guest Indore Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh administered the oath to the students. The pledge stated that if found to be a Thalassemia carrier, they would not marry another carrier to prevent the disease’s transmission.The ceremony witnessed the presence of Dr. B.S. Saitiya (Indore CMHO), Additional Commissioner Amit Singh, senior advocate Pragya Singh, and social worker Virendra Singh Thakur.World Book of Records CEO Santosh Shukla presented the award. Mr. Mayank Raj Singh Bhadoriya, Vice Chairman of Amaltas Group, emphasized that this initiative is not just a record but a historic step towards eliminating Thalassemia from the region.Dr. Ranjani Bhandari, President of Thalassemia & Child Welfare Group, provided awareness about the disease. Senior officials, deans, and faculty members from both universities also attended the event.
