About National Conference

The aim of the National Conference of the Society for Addiction Psychology is to foster a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to understanding and addressing addiction. A theme "Cognitive, clinical and Psycho-neurological aspects of addiction"is focus on various addiction which generally affect generation. Youth addiction has emerged as a critical issue globally, impacting young individuals, families, and communities. This issue extends beyond traditional substance use to include behavioral addictions like gaming, social media, and online gambling. This national conference focused on youth addiction would offer a platform for experts, researchers, policymakers, educators, and youth advocates to examine the causes, consequences, and innovative approaches needed to address this multifaceted challenge. The conference may also delve into the behavioral and neurobiological aspects of addiction, exploring how substance use affects brain function, decision making, and behavior. It also highlights cutting edge technologies, such as digital health tools and telemedicine, which increase accessibility to support and treatment, especially in underserved areas. Through these initiatives, the conference builds a strong professional network that enhances knowledge exchange and collaboration, ultimately advancing the field of addiction psychology to create lasting, positive impacts on individuals and communities affected by addiction.

Scope of Conference

The scope of the National Conference of the Society for Addiction Psychology encompasses a broad range of topics that address the many dimensions of addiction. Hosting a seminar on “Cognitive, clinical and Psycho-neurological aspects of addiction”is essential because youth addiction is a rapidly growing concern that threatens the well-being of young people and the broader society. Understanding and addressing the root causes, especially the risk factors that predispose youth to addictive behaviors, is critical for prevention and effective intervention. Here’s why this workshop is necessary in this context: addressing growing youth addiction crisis raising awareness and education on risk factors empowering families, schools, and communities highlighting mental health as a core risk factor supporting policy development and advocacy building resilience and coping skills in youth

Department of Allied and Rehabilitation Sciences (DARS):

The Department of Allied and Rehabilitation Sciences (DARS) is a leading academic and training hub committed to excellence in allied health and rehabilitation education. The department offers comprehensive programs in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, audiology, speech-language pathology, clinical psychology, special education, and other allied health disciplines.

Society for Addiction Psychology:

The formation of the Society for Addiction Psychology is a robust and initiating step in the direction of sensitizing the public and reducing the overall burden of Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) in our country. The society for Addiction Psychology (SAP) is one of such steps in reducing the substance use across India by providing a platform to practitioners, researchers, academicians and policy makers to come together under its hood and contribute their knowledge, experiences and their expertise. This would translate into tackling psychoactive substance use as a public health problem with equal emphasis on prevention, early intervention as well as treatment. I welcome all of you to join this novel cause.

  • Authors to submit abstracts for presentation at the conference.
  • Submissions are sought for oral presentations, posters, symposia and workshops. The deadline for abstract submission is 25th Nov., 2025.
  • All accepted Abstracts will be included in the Journal of the society for Addiction Psychology.
  • All enquiries regarding abstracts for the conference should be sent at amaltasarc@outlook.com
  • Abstracts limited up to 350 words are invited in MS Word format with 1.5 spacing using Microsoft Times New Roman font and 12 font size for both paper and poster presentation.
  • Last date of abstract submission: 25th Nov., 2025
  • Last date of full paper submission: 5th December 2025
  • Last date of registration: 25th Nov., 2025
  • On spot registration will be subject of Availabilities
  • Participants will be informed within three days of receipt of the abstract.
